User testing
Today we hijacked a room in the State Library to do some user testing – mostly to look at the online components. Still needs plenty of work – but it’s inching closer. Had some people curious about the city model too.
A city emerges
This took ages.
Changing city
I’m using google earth as my main reference for the city production. theres heaps of detail of the buildings. But today Google Earths database updated and the shoreline changed again! Like a lot.
So I’ve found myself referring back to the isometric projection at edushi map. The scale is a bit funny – like mine – but the buildings are relatively well described. And it probably won’t update anytime soon.
Commodity / resource codes
The game XonKon uses a series of codes based on the goods and services that have shape Hong Kong’s economic history. This week we finalised the code design and production. here are some samples.
Opium
Tea
Consumer electronics
Prostitution
China Central bank
A bit of a tricky architectural object to conquer. Fortunately other makers have been here before me. Their steps flattened the path.
